Boots on the Ground Engagement

The staff members of Hobart’s Run are all active members of numerous Pottstown community organizations (see Hobart’s Run Staff bios).  In addition, our staff routinely participates in events that bring neighbors together – happenings that extend beyond our cleanups, such as the Healthy Kids fair at the YMCA, a community resource event at Pottstown Regional Public Library, cultural events hosted by Centro Cultural Latinos Unidos, Inc., advocacy initiatives of the Pottstown NAACP and Fair Funding for Pennsylvania Public Schools, and projects to help unhoused individuals get back on their feet.  We organize food and essential items drives, help nonprofits and new businesses promote their efforts, and contribute to numerous civic causes (in FY 2023 Hobart’s Run contributed $20,000 to nonprofit endeavors).

In addition, staff member Cathy Skitko is the Coordinator of Community Service at The Hill School, through which student volunteers are matched with service opportunities with organizations throughout the Borough of Pottstown.

"How Can I Help Hobart's Run?"

There are many ways to get involved – from volunteering for a cleanup, participating in neighborhood meetings, serving as a block captain, or making a financial contribution that will help us fund our community initiatives.

Hobart's Run (a 501(c)(3) neighborhood initiative) was launched by The Hill School to create a clean and safe community; foster inclusivity; provide incentives for home ownership and property pride; and generate quality business development.
