APRIL 30, 2025 – Twila Fisher, Executive Director of Hobart’s Run, will be leaving her role after nearly a decade of service to Hobart’s Run, The Hill School, and the Pottstown community. Fisher has accepted a position as the Economic Development Director for the City of Ellsworth, Maine, where she will lead infrastructure and housing initiatives funded by federal and state programs beginning this June.
Since joining Hobart’s Run in December 2015 as the first-ever Director of Community and[CS1] Economic Development, Fisher has been instrumental in the launch and growth of the Hobart’s Run initiative. Under her leadership, the organization achieved 501(c)(3) status in 2017 and has been a consistent force behind neighborhood clean-up, development, engagement, and other revitalization efforts.
Throughout her tenure, Fisher pioneered and co-founded nearly a dozen community programs—including the Pottstown Housing Coalition, Community Leaders Breakfast, Pottstown Investors Conference, Block Captains Program, Adopt-a-Trashcan Program, Façade Improvement Grant, Homeowner Incentive Program, and the Pottstown Area Social Innovations Lab (PASIL). In 2023, PASIL, inspired by[CS2] Hill’s Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprise elective, moved to downtown Pottstown and includes the Espresso Yourself Book Café; ARTEC, a community makerspace led by Dr. Hoda Ehsan; Chair of The Hill School’s Engineering Department, and offices for two local nonprofits: The STRIVE Initiative and Be ReZilient.
In addition to her leadership in community development, during her tenure Fisher launched and taught The Hill School’s Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprise elective and two sections of Spanish.
“Twila’s impact on The Hill and Pottstown has been extraordinary,” said Hill’s Head of School Kathleen Devaney. “She has tirelessly built partnerships and programs that have strengthened connections between the School and our neighboring community, initiatives that will have a lasting impact.”
Fisher expressed her gratitude for her colleagues and partners, especially Cathy Skitko, Hobart’s Run Director of Communications and Community Relations, and Jacque Steinman, Administrative Coordinator, who will continue their leadership roles within the Hobart’s Run organization.
As Fisher transitions to her new role, she will continue working with Hobart’s Run to complete several key grant projects. A search for her successor is forthcoming, with more information to be posted on the Hobart’s Run and Hill websites when the position description has been finalized.
We extend our deepest thanks to Twila Fisher for her vision, leadership, and dedication, and wish her great success in her next chapter.
